Privacy policy
Nothing you type on this website reaches us through it. What we know about you is what you send us on WhatsApp or tell us at the desk, and this page says what that is and what happens to it.

In short
- This website has no accounts and takes no payments. It uses Google Analytics to count visits, which sets cookies in your browser.
- When you book, you send us your name, dates and the number of guests on WhatsApp or by phone. We use them for your stay and for nothing else.
- At check-in the law requires us to see and record a photo ID for every adult guest, and to report guests from outside India to the immigration authorities.
- We do not sell your details or pass them to anyone for marketing.
- To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, message the front desk.
Who we are
Mamamia Jaisalmer is a family-run hotel below Jaisalmer Fort; the address is Near Fort, Dhibba Para, Manak Chowk, Amar Sagar Pol, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001. The business behind it, registered name of the business, to confirm, is responsible for the personal data described on this page.
To ask about anything here, call or WhatsApp the front desk on +91 76657 09632, or write to us at the address above.
What this website collects
The booking and enquiry forms (the dates strip, the room slips, the contact page and the safari planner) only write a WhatsApp message for you. When you press the button, your browser opens WhatsApp with the message filled in, and it reaches us only if you then press send.
The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies in your browser so it can tell one visit from the next, and it records the pages you open, the site or search that sent you, your device and browser, and roughly where you are (the city or country). We see counts, such as how many people opened the rooms page last week. It does not tell us your name or phone number. To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser or install Google’s opt-out add-on.
Apart from those cookies, the website keeps nothing in your browser. There are no accounts, comments or newsletter to sign up for.
Like any website, the servers that deliver it keep a technical log of each request: your IP address, your browser, the page asked for and the time. Our host, Hostinger, keeps it to run the site and keep it secure.
Other services these pages use
Some parts of these pages load from, or link to, services we do not run. Each has its own privacy policy.
- WhatsApp (Meta), for every enquiry and booking message.
- Google Maps, when you follow a link for directions or to our reviews.
- Google Analytics, which counts visits to every page and sets cookies to do it. Google explains how it uses data from sites like this one.
- OpenStreetMap, which draws the maps on the homepage and the contact page, and so sees your IP address when they load.
- Hostinger, which hosts the site. Every page also loads a small script from Hostinger for an email sign-up tool. There is no sign-up form on this site, and the script stores nothing unless one is shown.
- WordPress.org, only for older browsers that cannot show emoji, which load emoji images from it.
What we collect when you book and stay
When you book: your name, your phone number (it arrives with your message), your dates, the number of guests and the room, and anything else you choose to tell us, such as a train or flight number for a pickup, or that you are bringing a pet.
At check-in: a valid government photo ID for every adult guest, which Indian law requires hotels to see and record. For guests from outside India the law also requires us to record passport and visa details and to report the stay to the immigration authorities on Form C.
If you book through another website, such as Hostelworld, that website passes your booking to us, and its own privacy policy covers what it collects from you.
What we use it for
- To hold and confirm your booking, and to answer your messages.
- To arrange a pickup or a safari you ask for.
- To keep the guest register and make the reports the law requires.
We do not use your details for marketing. We do not sell them, and we do not give them to anyone else for theirs.
How long we keep it
Guest-register and ID records: for as long as the law requires, and then they are deleted.
Booking messages on WhatsApp: how long they are kept, to confirm.
Your rights
India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and what we have done with it;
- have it corrected, completed or brought up to date;
- have it erased once it is no longer needed. Records the law makes us keep stay until the law lets them go;
- withdraw any consent you gave, as easily as you gave it;
- name someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to.
To use any of them, call or WhatsApp the front desk on +91 76657 09632. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
We hold details of children only as part of a family’s booking and check-in, given to us by the adult who books.
