The room
The walls are dressed blocks of Jaisalmer’s yellow sandstone, the same stone the fort is built from, with small lamps set into carved niches. There is a ceiling fan, and air conditioning for the months when a fan is not enough.
The bed is a wooden double, made up in white with blue cushions. Across from it are a wall-mounted TV, a mirror and a small carved side table, and there is a phone by the bed for reception.
The alcove
A jharokha is the carved stone bay you see jutting from the havelis all over Jaisalmer. In this room it is built into the wall, with a cushioned seat and a curtain you can draw across it. Somewhere to sit that is not the bed.
